Sweet Pea was inspired by the idea that everyone deserves the opportunity to find and be in happy, healthy, meaningful relationships. We believe that healthy relationships are dependent on our ability to empathize, communicate, and respect each other as individuals. While there are a lot of other dating apps, we felt like they didn’t do a good enough job at helping people authentically connect with one another and find meaningful relationships in a way that felt natural and human. Sweet Pea is our attempt at humanizing the online dating process and making it feel less like a game and more like a series of real life human interactions.

By focusing on self expression, conversation, and stories, we’re able to create an online dating experience that feels authentic and human. We use icebreakers to help people start interesting conversations, video stories to help people tell their story, and detailed profiles to foster self expression.

We understand that everyone is unique and has their own story to share. Our goal is to make expressing and sharing this with others as easy as possible. By building a platform that makes authenticity and expression parts of the core user experience, and investing time in growing a community that shares our values, we believe we can successfully help people all around the world form meaningful, healthy relationships.

As part of our commitment to this mission, Sweet Pea donates 10% of all in app purchases to charities that help people escape and recover from toxic relationships and living situations. Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women between the ages of 15 and 44 in the United States, something 1 in 4 women will experience in her lifetime. Our hope is that by partnering with organizations like The National Domestic Violence Hotline, Loveisrespect, and RAINN, we can do our part to raise awareness and help address this public health crisis.

By helping people find meaningful relationships, we’re able to others in need. It’s a mission we’re proud to stand behind.
